Questions, answered.
Getting started
How quickly can a tutor start?
Usually within two to four days in Chandigarh and Mohali, a little longer in Panchkula and Zirakpur during exam season. Online tutors can often start within a day or two.
Do you offer a free demo class?
No. Achievers Home Tuitions does not run demo or trial classes. The tutor, the schedule and the exact fee are confirmed with you before the first class, so there is nothing to try out blind.
Can we change the tutor if it is not working?
Yes. Tell our office rather than the tutor, and we arrange a replacement.
Home tuition
Which areas do you cover for home tuition?
The whole Chandigarh Tricity: Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar and New Chandigarh. Outside the Tricity we teach online instead.
Which boards do your home tutors teach?
CBSE, ICSE, ISC and PSEB across Classes 1 to 12, plus JEE and NEET preparation alongside school.
Do you teach hobbies at home?
Yes: guitar, keyboard, art, chess and yoga, subject to a tutor being free in your sector.
Online tuition
Do you teach students outside India?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Most of our online students are in the United States and Canada, with families in Australia, the UK and the UAE too. Classes are scheduled in your local time.
How does an online class work?
Live one-to-one video with a shared digital whiteboard and screen sharing. Sessions can be recorded on request so your child can revise.
Will the tutor know my child's curriculum?
We match on curriculum, not just subject. Tell us the board or state standard and the textbook, and the tutor works from that. If we do not have a strong match, we say so.
What about daylight saving?
Our office adjusts your slot when the clocks change and confirms the new local time with you.
Fees and payment
What does tuition cost?
Home tuition starts from ₹499 a class. Online tuition starts from ₹399 a class in India, or the equivalent in your currency: $4.99, C$6.99, A$7.99, £3.99, €4.99 or AED 17.99. The exact fee depends on the class, subject and tutor.
Which currency am I billed in?
Online tuition is billed in your own currency. Home tuition is Chandigarh Tricity only, so it is always priced in rupees.
Who collects the fee?
Achievers does. Tutors are instructed never to discuss fees with families.
How do we pay from outside India?
Our counsellor confirms the accepted payment method for your country when you agree the schedule.
