Hindi Alphabet (Varnamala) Chart
A printable Hindi varnamala for children learning at home, in India or abroad: every letter with its sound in English letters and a simple example word, the vowel signs (matras), and numerals.

The chart follows the order taught in Indian schools: the vowels (swar) from अ to अः, the consonants (vyanjan) from क to ह, and the joined letters क्ष, त्र and ज्ञ. Each letter has its sound in English letters and a simple word to say with it.
Vowels have two forms: the full letter at the start of a word, and a sign called a matra that joins a consonant. The matra chart shows every sign with क; once your child can read that row, the same signs work with every consonant.
